Throughout my journey as a choreograph-dancer (contemporary dance),
I have practiced somatic and holostic techniques
- in particular, Ideokinesis, Feldenkrais's method, Stretching and Yoga -
all of which I adapted to my own training needs
to reach optimum balance.
I do not dance anymore,
however the quest for a good balance is still very much necessary to
face daily life and the passing of years.
From my training and experience as a person
aware of the beneficial effects of a daily practice,
I have developed the SoftBodyTraining
to answer the basic needs of everyone concerned with a good balance:
relax-agile-strong.
I offer you my competence, my experience, my know-how
and my sensitiveness in order to answer to your expectations
and I develop a programme tailored
to your immediate needs,your intentions, your capabilities,
your life style
and your personality.
I pay great attention to the way an exercise is understood
and performed and to the difficulties that may be encountered, so that
the exercise can be adapted on the spot.
I use my gentleness, my sense of humour and my quiet nature
to communicate. I will encourage you during your work
and make sure that your efforts are well paced. It is important to me that
you can follow your own rhythm, in keeping with your body characteristic
and your goals; so that you can discover the pleasure of taking care of
your health.
Whatever may be your programme, the training will be based on
relaxation, breathing, body alignment and bodyawareness,
combining in order to work in a gentle and deep way during the exercises.
The benefits of a private session:
it is specially made for you and tailored to your needs.
Since it is specific and personnal,
you will be able to feel the progress quikly.
Relaxation in order to let go,
to free the tensions that have found their way in your body.
Body awareness through scanning and observing your body,
getting in touch in a palpable way with your flesh, bones and body-fluids
and to facilitate a precise and deeper relaxation.
Listening to your breathing
to sense its quality, its texture, then through visualization,
improve the capacity of your lungs
and the alignment of your spine.
After that come the 'physical' exercises.
They assist the mobilisation of the big and small joints;
they soften, lengthen and strengthen the different muscular groups
(legs, buttocks, abdominal and back muscles as well as arms).
They invigorate blood circulation and have a noticeable
influence on the proper functioning of the organs.
In the brain,
they facilitate the secretion of serotonin
(a neurotransmitter which influences the cerebral areas that control your frame of mind);
they help to reduce symptoms of depression
(know that depressed individuals have a very low rate of serotonin);
they raise the rate of dopamine, the pleasure hormone
and the secretion of endorphin, the wellness hormone.
